Good lookin bike for sure! I think I seen you over at the org before... I also went from honda to yamaha ha. how do you like it so far?

#3 ·
yeah i use to hang out around the org. and i guess it will grow on me, it feels really funky compared to the honda

#4 ·
yes it is different. but I now like mine more than i did the honda.

#5 ·
Yeah it will probaly grow on me, and can you run these without the fan? He gave me a box full of parts and the fan was in there

#6 ·
im almost positve you can. dont hold it against me though.

#7 ·
lol ok, im sure someone will chime in to help out

For mx, sand and woods racing mine has done fine without a fan. The only time I have had it overheat was when I was getting stuck on a nasty hill climb so I wasnt really moving and it was idleing for about 5 minutes. As long as you are moving it will be fine.

There are tons of people that run without the fan. In most cases people say theirs never turned on or only a couple of times for a few seconds so they ditched them. Yamaha put them on because the yfz will overheat under certain conditions. If you ride really low speed with low airflow it will kick on more often. Mine never runs on the mx track or the dunes. If it idles really long it turns on or if I trail ride really really slow.

By the way nice quad. I love the yellow and black. Black frame and A arms looks great. You could run any plastic color and that would look good.

Nice ride! Welcome to yfz's & the site!
I used to run Sparks but DASA out dyno'd sparks on my build so I've been DASA for a coupla years.
Well made and delivers gr8 power all across the powerband.

Sweet bike I may have missed it but what did you pay for it.

#18 ·
hes got it for sale on here.

#19 ·
Im not sure if im going to sell it anymore, i was going to get a car but i dont think i am anymore.

but i have a question for you guys..

do these come with hot starts? I mean it starts up pretty easy when its cold, but once its hot, this thing is impossible to start

#20 ·
nice yfz its 50/50 with the fan never overheated with the stock piston could run without one as soon as i put a 12.5 in mine she needed it and it wasn't lean either

#22 ·
I dont know, do they come stock with hot starts? And yeah its a kick start and the electric start was taken off.

#23 ·
I found the problem, the main jet was sitting in the bottom of the carb lol

#24 ·
I decided that im just going to keep it, so its time to put some of my flavor

Ordered my graphics yesterday
