Was out at the dunes last Saturday and had a hard landing, got back to my truck and I noticed the resevoirs tab had broken off..

Question is, can I still ride the bike without the small tank?

Or is it best I don't?

I would say you need it. The cooling system uses that to balance the level when hot or cold! Get a new tanks is my suggestion!

It's more like an overflow tank....

Doesn't control anything.......

I think...

right it controls the coolant level by letting it "overflow" when its hot and sucking some back when cold, hense the two lines to check the level. I would just spend the few bucks and get a new one, what would be the point of getting rid of it?

you can run without it, you just need to check the level in your radiator more often. you save some weight by removing it but its not worth it for the type of riding you do.

unless you feel like taking the side panel off every time you go for a ride and check the radiator level, just get a new bottle

I am getting a new tank, I was just wondering if I could ride without it while I got the new tank
