Case sealant

Does anybody have any recommendations on a good or the best sealent to seal the center cases when puting them together. Im guessing there is no gasket(not sure why) since the manual does not picture one and there was not one when taken apart. I know yamaha makes there own sealent but that means I have to order it and wait for it to arrive. Dont want to go to the parts store and just pick one before asking the pros(you guys).:lol

No there is no gasket between the center case halfs. I always either use Honda or Yamabond. Never have had it fail me just make sure the surface is clean and dry. And you can pick up either from a local dealer most of them stock one if not both.

I've always used general motor's assembly adhesive. It's a great silicone. Kinds like permatex right stuff. Just make sure the case halves are clean and dry of oil. I'm sure the yamabond and other stuff works fine too.

I used this on my R1 engine, worked great!

Motoseal by permatex, sold at most auto parts stores and Walmart works great.

been building engines for years. i recommend yamabond or threebond there the same thing

its what they use from the factory and how many brand new bikes have leaking cases

i use yamabond and have never had a leaky case. if you use it correctly it wont leak
