I know the new yfz don't come out til November but maybe somebody could know. I've been wonderin to myself what I could swap out on it and the main thing i'm wonderin about is the motor. I know the motor is different on the new yfz due to the new design and new frame position and some internal changes. I've got a Baldwin motor on my 06 and wondered if i'd be able to switch the motors. I figured I wouldn't be able to since all the new changes and thought I might be able to atleast change the clutch out and the top end from my Baldwin motor. Would the EFI affect anything like that? Does anybody know what all could work. That's the only thing that kinda sucks about the new bike is pretty much everything on the new R model is different from the 04-09 models.

My brain is kinda fried from writin that so it prolly don't make much sense but hopefully it makes enough to understand it.

+3 The whole motor is different. It states either on their website or on one of the videos that it has a different clutch system too.
Does anybody know if there is now separate oil for the motor and the tranny like Hondas or is it still all one.

The only thing that might work is the head, but I kind of doubt it.

I don't think the clutch is THAT much different. If you look on yamaha's web site, they have some accessories up for it. The gyt-r clutch components are the same as the other yfz's. As is the piston. The gyt-r air filters are also the same but it states that the adapter plate is different.
