:icon_cool: I am new here, and not exactly a veteran of quads (been on them my whole life but my yfz is the first i've owned). I am running ArsFx lt a-arms and Custom Axis triple rate shocks (fully adjustable). I've been looking around on here for a few days and have seen very few people that run this combo. I even did a search, and found hardly anybody that runs these arms. Are these not very good arms, or why is nobobdy running them? I ride trails, and dunes, and in the dirt with a lot of jumping and love this set up, but I don't get a chance to ride too many other quads with aftermarket suspension. Just trying to figure out if i got quality w00ter. I bought the quad with this front end on it, and the previous owner weighed the same as me, and rode gncc, so the set up was perfect for me, but i was wondering if the a-arms were any good, or if I could benefit from better ones. Thanks for your help. :icon_cool:

It is a very pricey front end. I think that's why not many folks run it. Everybody I've talked to that has that front end LOVES it. I do like the fact that the people at Axis had a lot to do with the design of the a arms. To a certain extent, the a arms were made for those shocks, and the shocks are made for those a arms.

well, i run that front end. the MX set up though. but i ride the dunes, and trails too some. im guessin people dont run it b/c its not popular in mx yet. it is spendy, but no more than walsh. and im not sayin he who spends the most, gets the best, but ive seen some of the houser, and jb, and holz, and some other companies stuff, and this stuff has them beat, IN MY OPINION. they use stronger, heavier duty material. and im not goin to start bashin other companies, but this stuff is very well made. the arms are top quality, the welds are perfect. their new swingarm is bad ass. check out their page, im not sure if the new one is goin yet or not though.

the thing i like bout ARS f/x, which is made by ZBROZ is that they didnt just make some arms, and put some shocks with them. they design the a arms around the quad. then spec the shocks for axis to build. although, they are goin to start building their own shocks now. they have been having problems with axis....perfect example!!!!! my shocks, my rear shock had the wrong rebound needle in it.....i had no rebound adj, and the front werent valved to spec. i dont remember his name, but the guy that started axis is goin to be workin for them now. i love my stuff, their quality is top notch, and their service is good too. ive seen a few posts on here talkin bout their service, and i sometimes have a hard time gettin a call back, but, they are BUSY!! all the GNCC guys run this stuff, and they are always makin new stuff. if you cant get a call back from them, CALL THEM BACK.

so, dude, enjoy it for a long time, its gonna last

ZBROZracing.com

and to all that wonder, its worth the extra coin spent. give it a couple monthes and get their new shox, they are gonna be sweet. and they are gonna shave a few pounds off this new swinger

one of my buddies (sam) runs that same front end, it was the first aftermarket front end i had ever rode and it was sweet. his is set up for mx but it is the same products.

at least it wasn't in backwards :mhihi: , Grant (gtilley45) knows what i'm talking about

I have always run ARSFX, and will not run anything else. You get what you pay for. A lot of stems from those other companies are junk and twist. Mike Halek is the man behind the show, he knows suspension probably better than anyone else. They will have their own ArsFx shocks for next year. I believe Roll arms still cost more, but their elka shocks are cheaper. But we won't go there.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I thought they must be decent, considering how they're built, but it is hard to find info about them on the net. Their new site doesn't appear to be fully running yet. The only complaint I could possibly have is that they seem kind of heavy, but as hard as I beat them I guess it's a good thing.
Thanks again guys.

That sucks! Penske is ruining the Axis name. It hasn't been the same since Halek left. That is why he is making his own new shocks. They have to be heavy arms to hold up. They make a lighter version now also. I will stick the the heavy duty for XC stuff. You should see the bottom of the frontend I had for 2 years now! If lighter, wouldn't have made it that long.

TRIGGER: just call them for info, they helped me out with the first ARS f/x front end i bought used.....long story why i junked that one. but they were very helpful, they really do stand behind their stuff

gtilley45 dude, that is crazy. i guess now i have something to be glad about. did you get hurt or what? thats narly man

You mean when I bent the shock? If you are, no I didn't get hurt. I didn't even wreck. I just went over a jump and came up to the next one which I wasn't jumping. I rolled over the take off and I felt the seat drop out from under me. I thought the subframe had broke so I pulled over and that's when I saw the shock.

ya, thats what im meant bout bendin that shock.. so what did axis do for ya? or tell you it was user error like my computer?? haha

i had zbroz call axis and tell them bout hte completely wrong rebound needle, and i mean way wrong. it was like 4 or 5 steps smaller than what i needed. they said too bad, BUT that was partly b/c zbroz told axis theyre buildin thier own and where they could put there stuff!

I never called Axis. These shocks are probably close to 3 years old so I figured they'd tell me to piss off. I just sent them to Quinn Motorsports and he fixed it for me. Didn't cost as much as I was expecting, not even close.

Anybody know about how much travel I should have with this setup? The a-arms are +.5, and the shocks measure about 18.5". Also, do longer a-arms give you more travel, or just increase width?

The only real reason people dont have them is because pros dont have them. Not only that, but they're hard to find and expensive.
