IMO a total gimmick. If by air scoops you mean those highly over priced head light air scoops.

Seems redundant to put Aluminum air scoops on a YFZ when it comes with plastic radiator scoops already, but you could be right.... in which case IMO total waste of $$$$$$ time and energy. But Just my $0.02.

 

yeah those are what I was talking about. I didnt see a real purpose behind them except a money pit but I have seen a few different brands so I thought maybe there is something to them...

 

On a YFZ, I think they are a waste of money. On 250R's though, they are a good idea. The stock plastic ones on a 250R are too small and don't bring in much air. But a YFZ gets plenty of air with the stock air shrouds.
