Why don't you just get an 08 yfz450 crank. I have an 05 and going to put 08 crank

Better, not sure. If all your trying to do is to make your 05 to a true 450 correct? Also hope you have your updated oil system update with lube spray nozzle cuase you will have issue. I bought 04 blown. motor, due too not having it. Fyi.

Wow that sucks, yea I got it done. But yea I was looking to make it a true 450 and then throw a big bore on it. I did want the WR crank for the quicker revving, but with the BB and porting, and bored carb I’m sure it will run how I want anyway.

I would look around for more info. For what you want to do. As for me and my family, I do some sand drag racing for fun, but we just do trails and sand dunes.

I appreciate the reply, not too many active people on here. I’ve been reading all the old posts on everything and will continue. My family rides mostly trails and but I ride some tracks here and there. No dunes near me unfortunately.

I run a WR crank in mine, don’t forget the wrist pin is different also so you’ll need the WR piston as well.

Yea I found the piston I want that is for WR crank, but haven’t found a crank yet. Looking everywhere but no 04-06 wr cranks for sale online.

I ordered mine from Rocky Mountain ATV. Brandnew Yamaha ready to drop in. But that was pre Covid

I wouldn't install a used WR crankshaft, spend the extra 100-200 and get a new one.

Alrighty I’ll do that. I’ve only found like 1 site that has new oem, see a lot of hot rods, but not sure if I’d go with hr.

I thought they were a little cheaper, but if you found OEM WR crank for 400 snatch it up.

I’ll probably order one. What do you think would be best piston choice? I was thinking CP, I want to be able to run pump or racing gas. If I put a WR crank in, my compression will be as advertised right? Is Vertex good?

My crank was trashed at the time so it needed one regardless. But it pulls very well low to mid throttle and up, I would still install another. Son is getting torn down, 13.5 piston and getting the head done and carb ported.
