Which Tires?

529 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  3L3M3NT
I need some tires soon, my stockers have more cracks then a grannys skin and the lugs are gettin donw there. I was goin for the MXR4 but i need a tire that will last me longer then 2 rides. I do ride on gravel roads sometimes which is not good on soft compound tires. I mostly trail ride and some track. I need an all around tire. Preferebly a 20" but i dont want anything bulky. I was lookin at the MXR4 but like i said, a bit to soft of compound for me. Is the MXR6 more stiff? Would a Razr (not Razr 2 i dont like them) be a good alternative? Need some suggestions guys.

And i could get another set of stockers for about $30 a tire but i want to change the look of my beast, and a good set of shiny new shoes will do that. And need a good front tire too.

Thanks in advance

itp GNCC are the sweetest set of tires ive ridden on.. they wear a little fast but man they hook up on anything!! wet grass you cant get it to slide at all. they are great!!!! but kinda pricey i think yamaha of troy are the cheapest ive found.

i was lookin at those, but i dont want anything that wears to quickly. And i like driftin on wet grass lol i love winter cuz of drifting and in summer that about the only thing that you can really drift on in the summer
I had used to have GNCC's and they were really nice for the trails, but they didnt wear fast. I was able to drift on wet grass but that was about it and then snow of course
is there a different compound like in the razr mx?
Got the perfect tire for ya, Holeshot HD. They take a looong time to wear, and mine are on stock rims. look real aggresive, and there 20's
thats a good call Eric, The SR's are a great tire because they are radials. which means they will last a LOT longer and sound like a better tire for what you are doing, Two other i might add, Duro MX tires last a long time but still hook up, and the new Dunlop MX tires. they are 6-ply non directional and offer up a competitive edge for half the cost of ITP. well almost half, lol, if you need some let me know, i actually have a few sets of brand new Dunlop MX's here!

Jon
okay, well im still lookin so dont get your panties in a knot lol

and i was lookin at those SR's, they dont look to bad.

Thanks Jon :mhihi:

I've kind of always been a fan of ITP tires even before I got sponsored by them. I've also started to hear good things about GBC tires, but wouldn't really know what to recommend for the type of riding that YFZER359 is planning on doing.

Otherwise I believe Hoosier is coming out with an MX tire, but don't know when, since I just saw pictures a while back from the Indy Dealer show. Also hard to say how they will hold up.
