Do u have the stock carb drain hose on it cause ik that mine didnt do it will the stock drain hose but when it fell off and I put a regular hose on it it will leak when I set it on the grab bar to
Every quad ive seen has done it. The bowl on the carb fills and has to go somewhere so it drains out that little brass tube in the bowl, Right out the overflow it will do it when it leans to much to.
well i know they all dont.. my buddy has the same qaud .. 2004 tho.. and his doesnt do it.. and id like too tear his carb apart too see why.. lol but i guess thats out of the question
when mine had the stock drain hose on it it didnt leak
Stand it up on the grab bar and look at it dribble out
mine does it when its on the grab bar but not when im doin a wheelie.
Supply and demand. If your not sucking the fuel out of the carb it will run out, If your engine is pulling fuel into the engine it wont leak.
true ... but when i load my buggy up in the truck .. it leaks.. and my old one didnt.. and alot of peoples dont.. thought maybe it was the float.. and its a stock carb.. but i got the boysen quiokshot on it
Ok this thing is leaking far worse than i first thought,How much fuel are you lossing?
Thats the bowls overflow, when my float pin fell out, it wouldn't shut the fuel intake off allowing the bowl to continue to fill up and it pours out of the overflow if the gas gets to a certain height, I'm sure the same applies to you, your gas isn't overflowing, but when the quad is at an angle, the gas line is over the overflow tube.
mine pours out! alotttttttttt... i mean crazy alot.. its more then should.. i wander if there is a way tooo cut it back a little.. AND i just rode with my buddy nick,... and we flipped his up.. and let it sit for like 5 minutes... and NOTHING poured out.. its really wierd.. o well.. im gonna call houston yamaha and pick there brain.. ill let you guys know what i find out

^^^^ what he said.but your floats could be set to high you could try to adjust for less fuel in the bowl
Sounds like a yfz thing. MY old kfx400 and buddies ltz400 didn't leak a drop when stood on grab bars. I stood my brand new 08 yfz on the grab bar yesterday to take off the skid plate and I quickly had a large puddle of gas on the ground. Shut the fuel off and no problem. I do remember my other friend wheelieing his yfz onto the grab bar and gas leaking all over also.
my question is are you turning the gas off?
