i changed my oil and filter after the second ride. the manual says wait til 10 hours use, but i changed mine and found small metal shavings in the filter. remember this, you can never change your oil too much. i think the valve adjustment is about right.

You can check your valves if you want, but a "shim under bucket" design very rarely needs adjusting.
I changed my oil after the first tank of fuel (which was at the end of the first day I owned it :D ). You want to get the breaken oil out of it fast, it carries lots of very small metal shavings around.

Very true these arfe much less maintinence thatn the older 4 strokes where you were always having to adjust the valves and such.

Shim-under-bucket is totally different than the other pushrod motors.

This bike has shim-under-bucket and needs the valves adjusted alot less often than the older 4 strokes
