What Aftermarket Crank W/ Stock Motor

1538 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Shee450
Anyone running a 3mill crank w/ just exhaust and stock bore? I need to buy a new crank (rod bearing went out) and not sure if I should go w/ a hot rods 3mill or stock. I like the torqe and dont want to lose any. I only track and trail ride. Let me know any thoughts or what you guys are riding and if you noticed a difference?

the 3 mill will be fine! you gain a little TQ maybe a little HP..
Will the 3mill make it a 471?
I forgot to mention that I have Hot Cams will that affect anything as far as clearance or something w/ the 3mill?
it will all work together... the hotrods +3 crank works well..... it has been a 50/50 shot though with vibration issues... so we have been recommending having it balanced to match your piston before instal
Ok. Would I need to go to a specialty shop for that or like a machine shop?
Hey man I'm running the +3 with stock bore and its great. I have a few more mods than you but the torque I have is excellent and is very noticable over a stock motor 450 with pipe and GYTR intake. You will like it but yes the vibration is an issue, check your bolts before every ride, they DO COME LOOSE :)
Thanks man. Thats what I want to hear!
that what i am running but i have a few more things done. I don't have a vibration problem. I am using a CP 13.5. I did have a lot of problems with vibration though with the big bore and the +3.

I know CrankWorks in AZ has been who i have heard most about.
Just to update an old thread. I did go with the hotrods crank and I love it. Yes there is a bit more vibration than stock but hardly noticeable. Thanks for all the input!!! Bike flies just have no one to ride with once I finally finished the build.:cry
