Valve Shiming

hey guys i just checked my valve clearence and they are .004 to tight so can i just order the hotcams shim kit and reshim them?

Yes, that is the correct way to do it. Set them to .006 intake and .010 exhaust. :icon_biggrin:
the kit is great to have on hand.... that way you have all the shims that you might need.

we have them in stock... and sell them to members for $68.00 shipped.

If you want to buy a shim kit you can but you could also just call your stealership and they will sell them to you individually

problem is they charge alot for the individual shims.... after a few shim changes, you could have had the whole shim kit to own rather than spend a fortune on individuals at the dealer.

Very true.....$68 shipped for the kit is a good price. Setting your valve lash is not plug and play, alot of times you will install what seems to be the right pad, but you will not achieve the right clearance. I recommend buying the whole kit.
yes, buy the whole kit... or find a friend with one like i did. =P

my dealers price is 7 a pop, so assuming i had to change them all, it would have been $35 and thats also assuming i got it right first try.

very true. $10 a shim at my dealer. im thinkin about buyin the shim kit and be able to do all my frends valves too, and charge them $35 a pop lol

its $60 for a valve set at my dealer
one of my friends had a kit that i borrowed and worked good thanks for all the info guys
can i borrow that kit to?
