I just bought a 2007 YFZ and the headlights are dim at idle and get even dimmer when at higher RPMs. So I tested the AC voltage at the headlight according to the service manual and it was less then 12 VAC at idle and dropped way down when I would rev it. Service manual said replace the regulator/rectifier so I did and when I put the new one in the headlights were still dim at idle but both got extremely bright and blew out instantly when I revved the engine. So I went from dropping voltage at higher RPM to spiking voltage. I noticed the new regulator looked different than the old one so when I looked it up the one that I took off looks like a trail tech regulator instead of OEM. Does anyone know what the issue could be? Thanks
