Throttle Sticking

when you let off of the throttle,it seems to hang, like the slide is not closing.i know i have seen this problem on the internet before, but i have never seen a answer.
things checked,slide closes,needle straight,jets clean,cable not hanging up,thumbthrottle not hanging,airfuel screw adjusted,ect.
the only thing i can think of that had changed is,i started running race gas.
symptom, you go into a turn, ease out of the throttle and it doesn't slowdown :icon_biggrin: good for mx,not for xc :icon_frown: very :angryfire:

yea,i cleaned the slide, turned the throttlewheel to w/o,and it will slam shut.
04 quad,06+crank,12.5 je piston,stock 04 head,valves are at 22-25 exhaust,12-15 intake,pro-flo foam filter,jetting is 45-48 pilot,needle on the 3rd,main 170-175,airmix adjusted.
jetting changes due to weather and racetrack location.
You don't need to run race fuel with that setup. I doubt that's your problem though.

yea,i was just seeing if i could get alittle better starting, maybe i would benefit from the fuel with more consistnant jetting.i'm gonna go back to reg.93 though.this started with the fuel,i know it makes no sense.
i know i have seen some other post on here at times,of people having similar probs, but i never seen a cure.
i have talked to 3 other people around the state,at tracks, that have the same prob. :icon_neutral:
I had the same problem and went one size up on the pilot jet and the problem went away

i plan to keep playing with the jetting, but i don't think it is the jetting.it was operating fine, and the warmer the weather gets, the worse it seems to be.but it has never been a prob to recently.
they usually keep there revs like that when there too rich. Change the pilot.

And one suggestion, dont be so hard headed about stuff. Be open minded or your never gunna find out whats wrong cuz you dont beleive anybody. Be willing to try anything these guys say on here, cuz i bet that most of them know more then you lol
you've checked your valves? one could be hanging open.. also try a pilot change like suggested..

I use to have that problem and it was a bent valve. :bawling:

i just had the head off and went through it,6 hrs on the motor since.
i have went from 45-50 pilot with no change.
i'm gonna replace the clamps on the intake, possibly a leak.

yea,the intakeboot could be the prob.i'm gonna try new clamps also, thinking they maybe alittle tweeked from on and off so many times.
also make sure the screw that holds the slide up and down mechanism (no idea what its called) Just make sure it is tight, because mine came loose and it would just bounce off the wall because the slide was bouncing up and down...

i guess you are talking about the screw that goes into the throttlewheel shaft, correct?if so,it is tight.
i thought it was a vaccum hose clogged,or something like that, but everything i have checked is good.
accels fine, idles ok,when you let off the throttle, while riding, it takes it a extra second to get to baseline idle,or so you can shift without the revs being up.
Does it hang just above idle? Do you have ebay spring or spring mod done to your throttle return spring?
you dont have any kind of exhaust leak? around the head or back by the muffler itself..
