Taken -1 Or-2 Out Of A Stock Swing Arm ?

im tring to find out if any one cut the stock swing arm in half and weldded back? pics if you have them

Ive never heard of anyone doing that. IMO i dont think its a good idea becuase the stock swinger is aluminum, after you weld aluminum it tends to get weaker at the weld point. plus welding aluminum is a pain! but you sure can polish the crap outta the stock swinger, check it out..

thanks, i started off using a digrinder to get mostly all the rough finish off. then started off with 80 grit sandpaper then 150, 220, 400, 600, 800, 1000 grit sandpaper in that order the last two i used wet. it took about 2-3 weeks, but it was worth it.

looks rad dude.

Maybe when my motor blows i'll do that cuz she'll be down for a while lol porting and all that is probly gunna take a while so i'll take my time sanding and stuff.

I had mine extended 1.5 and have been mx racing it for a wial like that have yet to brake it.

We've cut a few down to race on the ice. -1, -1.75, -2, -2.25, and then roughly 6-8inches cut off too.
We've done a few on honda's as well as hand built 3 aluminum swingarms to different lengths.

Here is a studded quad (-2.25) and a rubber quad (-7ish)
