I just bought some Elka triple rate shocks and dual rate rear shock for $250.00. I've never had after market shocks before so I have a few ?'s. First he had hem set up for 170lb rider I'm about 225 so do I need to get them re-valved or change the springs or what? The second is if I do need to get them re-valved or new springs where would be the best place on price and service. Thanks for the help guys.

yes you will have to get them re-valved. And i would send them into Elka, they will do a complete service for you.

EDIT: Lucky you! Thats my 1000 post!!! lol
Thanks for the advise. Do you have any idea how much it will set me back?
you'll need a re-spring as well.

well they are in Quebec , Canada so depending on where you are
Please dont send them to Elka! Send them to Precision in San Diego Ca. area or someone else who knows valving. It will be cheaper and you will have better results.Thats who did my Elkas and they were amazing! Do more research on this. There are alot of companys out there that service shocks.Google Precision Concepts(yes, the same maker as the stabilizer),they do shock setup for alot of pro racers.
DFR is a site sponsor and they do shock service. PM them and they will get you hooked up.

I agree with Mike, send them to Dirt Fiend Racing.

Rudy has been in the ATV buisness a long time and I'm sure you'd get your shocks back just right for your needs and in timely fashion...
Thanks for the responses guys. I appreciate it

Precision stabilizers are made by Precision Racing Products in Lodi, CA., NOT Precision Concepts.

Racetech, Noleen, and several others also do re-valve work. Cheaper faster, and probably with better results than Elka.
I agree don't send them to Elka you can find somewhere that can revalve and respring them for a cheaper price with as good as or better service than Elka
