Starter Spinning Backwards

i just got my bike all put back together, went to hit the start button and the starter spins but the motor does not, find out it its spinning backwards. WTF so just to see what they hells going on i flip the positive and negative on the starter and boom starter spins the right way and motor turns over.. but hells slow. pulled the plug and got better but thats not the problem. the wires that go on the starter are pretty straight forwad they fell into place and i had to force the wire to go up to the starter. what else would cause this problem? everything else looks like its suppose to. i went back through the wired and everything that has connectors can only plug into one place. im so damn confused!!!

It's been so long since I've had electric start, I could be wrong. But I think if the one way bearing is in backwards, it'll do that.
i have had this problem once before so im 99% i know what your problem is. you have put the negative lead going from the battery onto the starter motor and not onto the clutch mount and the starter cable from the solinod is earthed out, swap them back around, doing this will cause the stater motor to spin the wrong way at full speed
good luck

ive swapped the wires, when they are hooked up correctly positive on the starter it spins backwards. when you flip them and put the neg on the starter it spins like it should. as for the one way bearing i think you can only put in on one way.. i did look at that already. what i think it is, is when i got the frame powder coated i left the motor mounts powder coated. so what i think is happening is the motor isnt grounded to the frame.. and somehow its reveresing the polarity.

No.
It was on a z400 I did it so I can't say for sure its the same, but it did the same exact thing, and I had put the one way starter assembly thing behind the flywheel in backwards
what direction should the starter be turning?
ttt
i dont think the stator clutch can go on wrong, it has a little groove on one side
im not talkiing about swapping the battery terminals over i mean the wires down at the starter

negative battery wire goes to earth on the clutch arm, the wire going on the starter solinoid goes down to the starter motor. battery and solinoid shoud be hooked up like this

How about the wires at the other end? They are both black, about the same size and easy to switch.
the starter cable has a soft rubber insulator and the earth cable has the stiff shiny rubber insulator

thats what i have been trying to say, what way wrong are the cables are the starter and clutch earth point, if they are wrong, it WILL turn over the wrong way
