wait

Hes just mad cuz EX only got a bigger carb for 2004 and that the YFZ is gonna dominate over the 400ex.
Yamaha just seems to be pumping out more and more top of the line bikes each year. The only major problems were with the 2001 Raptor. What do you expect?Every bike has its first year problems and bugs to work out.As far as Honda not making anything yet.Well you can be damn sure that when the time comes that they do come out with another sport quad it will be the top of its class especially in reliability and looks. :D It will sell bigtime.
(These words are coming from a diehard yammy and honda fan)! This new YFZ is awesome! :D

Yamaha has really stepped up to the plate with this one...I mean they just released the raptor a few years back, and now this...whats next? I mean remember when we thought this bike was all rumors? that was a few weeks ago, :lol I hope honda does come out with something, but i highly doubt it...and it will prob. be to late.

I think people should just ride what suits them best. I love my honda, but I'm not brand loyal by any means. When I buy the new YFZ, it will be because it has the most to offer me for my hard earned $$$.

Very well said. If I had the budget to race MX, this would be my quad of choice. The Z is an excellent trail machine, but I think the YFZ will spank it on the track.

I'm hoping it's going to be as good as everyone says it is, I know my cousin's YZ426 dirt bike hauls @$$, and that this is basically the same motor, except a 440, and thrown in a light quad. Everything to me seems like it should be all that, and more. I'm going to take a look at them in 2 weeks, and if it's what I expect, then you can be sure there will be one in my garage.......I too am a die hard honda fan (so die hard I've owned 15 different honda bikes, and none of any other brand), but with the way my cousin's 426 performs, and the way he rides, and it still holds up, I think I am switching to Yamaha....Not to mention Honda has really missed the boat here and has left us hanging with the same ole' bike. I will still keep my 400ex though It will be my trail bike and extra bike incase one of my friends or I break our bikes.

where i ride ( glamis) my 400ex was a total waste of money  .i got rid of my shee to have a nice reliable bike. dumped thousands into it to only get beat by the new technology stock quads(actually i did beat my sons brand new suzuki but it was an lt80 :( )? WTF! is honda thinking. i will never buy honda again due to the fact that they will not give us what we want.the try to shove this sorry a$$ excuse for a sport quad down our throat meanwhile every other manufacturer is listening to it`s customers. if honda does have something up there sleeve too freakin bad they can stick it where the sun don`t shine  they missed the boat, day late and a dollar short, you snooze you lose,.i think the yz 450f motor is better than the crf450 anyhow. :|

I think Yamaha did thier home work and took thier time. I've always been a Honda fan but the bottom line is Yamaha is "bringin' it" and Honda isn't. I don't believe in brand loyalty especially when someone is taking your money.

About 3 weeks ago I was talking to my main riding buddy and I was going to build my EX to the max. He suggested I just get something new with more potential but I said nobody makes the quad I want. He asked my what I wanted and I said 400 - 450cc's, 350 - 375 pounds, well suspended, low seat hieght, decent stock width and a screaming motor with tons of potential. I also mentioned it would be nice to be able to get all the extra parts to trick it out from the manufacturer. Here we are now with th new Yamaha and everything I asked for so I'm saving and selling.
Peace, Diggler

Honda always wants to release a product that spanks the competition. As a result, they're the last ones to release whatever it is. For example- the CRF250R- their new little thumper. It was supposed to be out this summer, then it got pushed back to the fall, and now they're saying November. By then, the Kawisuki 250's will be out, and maybe even a KTM. Everyone who wants a 250 four-stroke will already have one. The Honda may be good, but everyone already has a bike. The same thing with their new quad. Everyone will already have a Yamaha or Suzuki. And by the way- the YZ450F engine does just barely beat out a CRF engine.
