Mine did that once and I found out I was jetted way rich. That may or may not be your problem but you might want to check your jetting.
also, look for air leaks around your intake, and check your cables make sure they arent "gummy" or binding..
Im going through the jetting this weekend...bike only has like 2 hrs on it....anybody know where i can find a link for the service manual online for the yfz?
i think sidewinders YFZ garage has the manuals.

I had same problem. Tried everything and turned out I had my idle up to high.
Mine has been doing that....

Stays accelerated when I stop, then it slows down, I rev it, and let off, and it stays revved, weird
mine does it on occassion. i usually just put it in gear and slip the clutch and bring it down and it stays down

that is exactly whats going on with mine.

but i just changed pipes too. from a full DRD to a full 2nd gen GYTR. i didn't change the jets at all so maybe thats the problem.
Thats what happened to mine, I went from a yosh to venom pipe and had to jet down. I would check the jetting and also make sure the screws for the carb slide are tight. When I went through my carb, the slide screw was loose and was sticking slightly.
