Repairing Wire Harness Quick Question Needed

Fixing up a roughly chopped harness, just have a quick one the RED/BLACK coming off the CDI Pined connector can it be left out/disconnected or does it need to make a circuit with the RED or Brown lead on the key switch plug? This is for a harness for kicker only with key swtich and no fan,lights,tps,tors,idiot lights etc. so all the other RED/BLACK feed destinations are gone already. Thanks
