Looking to get some ITP Holeshots or GBC XC Masters. I ride NJ trails only which are sandy and a lot of sandpits and maybe tracks once in a blue moon. I can't decide, do I go for 20s, 21s, or 22s? I do say, ground clearance is sometimes a issue for me in the trails in the yfz and getting through some mud holes. Don't want something super aggressive, I do love getting the rear end loose on corners and doing a lot of donuts.

Thanks!

Typical XC uses 21 on the front and 20 on the rear. If you go with 22s on the rear, it will effectively change your gearing. It will be taller with less grunt--you may want to change your gearing. 22s will raise the center of gravity and make sliding more tippy. Plus more sidewall means the tire rolls under and it will feel less precise. Generally 22s are for high speed desert racing.

Alright I should just settle for 20 rears then. Thanks

I ride NJ trails/pits as well as racing some GNCC Been running GBC XC masters front and rear. They hold up well, the rears are definitely aggressive but still slide predictably if you’re on the gas. Will be staying w XC master fronts and switching to Ground Buster 3 pro’s for the rear. I would stay away from 22” rears.

Thoughts on the ITP holeshots? My local dealer has them available.

What model holeshots--XCR, MXR, etc? ITP basically calls all their tires holeshots but they have different models for different purposes with various tread patterns, ply count, etc. They have the GNCC for XC, the XCR which has a lower profile for better sliding, the HD has a higher profile for desert. If you go to their website you can learn about them.
