Rear Brake Reservior

5712 Views 25 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  02raptor_rider
I want to relocate my rear brake reservoir down by the master cylinder. I shaved my rear fenders so I thought I could attach it where the rear fender braces were, but I am not having any luck because the spout is facing the front of the bike and it needs to face the rear.
I have heard of rear brake ressy relocation kits, but I searched and could not find any. Some help would be appreciated.

you shouldnt need to relocate it. It should be tucked up by your carb already.

the 04-05 had the rear rezzie right behind the heal guard, had its own little bracket, if you take the healguads off, its just kinda floating there.

to chevy... ive seen some kits too, but im no help in finding them, i think one of the sponsors had a custom fab frame guard/relocator setup.

I know where it is, dude. :mhihi:

I want to move it down behind the heal guard because it gets in the way when trying to spin the carb to make jetting changes. Anyone know what I am talking about?

yea. Its one 10mm bolt, are you really that lazy? lol
yah bro it takes maybe 10 seconds to undo the bolt. there is a reason why they relocated it up there
yeah id rather take the bolt out than relocate it to the heel guard and have a rock break it off.
I ride MX tracks and dunes.......rocks aren't a problem.

Surely someone on here has mounted it there???
nope thats where it used to be mounted and they made a relocation kit for it when it was there.

seriously dude, you cant take one extra minute to undo ONE bolt?
yeah, you have to take off that bolt like 50 times to equal the work it is to relocate it.

other than trying to convince you otherwise... im no help, sorry.
Even though you take the bolt out, the stupid thing still gets in the way. I have searched and searched for a relocation kit with no luck. I guess I could just by a reservoir from an 04, since it has the spout in the bottom.
inprovise, look for holes it cn fit thru to get out of the way. Your making it waaayyy harder then its supposed to be lol
now i feel dumb, i assumed you had an older bike and were trying to move it. how often are you jetting your bike?

I know how to take the bolt out to free the reservoir.......I know it just takes a minute.......I am not making it harder than it is.......I know where I want it mounted, so unless you want to help me by finding a relocation kit, please don't post in this thread again. I don't mean to sound like an w00ter, your just repeatedly stating the obvious.

No, I have an 07 and it is originally mounted up by the carb. I thought it would be nicer to have it down by the heal guard and I have seen many people with newer bikes with it mounted there. I only make 2 jetting changes a year, that's not the only reason I want it away from the carb, just thought it looked cleaner.
Here is what i did with mine,

I Had to drill the hole in the rezzi a little large for the bolt, but I put a about a 1.5 inch long bolt through the old fender mounting tab there, slipped the rezzi onto it and then pinched the rezzi on with a nut and washer on the back side. I have never had an issue with it like this for close to 4 years now.

Is what i did, is i took both fender brackets off. I "v'ed" the bend on the right side bracket, bent it almost 100% straigight, re mounted it on the left side. Now there are two holes on this bracket. i mounted my rezi to the bottom hole and the nice thing is, this keeps it away from the swing arm and the exhaust so it doesn't heat up the fluid either, now no brake fade during a long moto or long rides :)

Hope this helps

BINGO!!!! I wish you lived closer....I would buy you a beer or 12.

Did your stock reservoir have the spout on the bottom like that, because mine has the spout on the side.

I kind of get what your saying, if you had some pics that would be awesome.
Mine is an 05 so the rezzi has the nipple on the bottom. I bet you could get one for an 04 or 05 off of ebay for a reasonable price.
Hopefully some one can chime in on this one:

I need the reservoir from a 2005, with the spout on the bottom. I thought I would go to power parts plus and order the master cylinder. They sale the master cylinder, diaphragm, bush diaphragm, and cap all separate. All off it together is $25 before shipping. Will my diaphragm and cap from my 07 reservoir work in the one from the 2005? Or better yet, anyone know where I could buy one other than OEM parts store that's cheaper?
