Raptor 660

Ok so my friend installed a 10.75:1 piston in his 660 raptor, which is still considered pump gas. Now he is having a hard time with it starting off the starter. It is draining the battery really quick. He swears the timing and everything is right. That it turns over by hand easy with the spark plug out, but with it in, just really slow turning over and doesn't really want to start.

Is there something people do with the decompression mechanism, or does he have other issues???? Possibly starter??? It worked fine with the stock piston before he took it out.
Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Thanks

I'll never ever own another 660 ever.

Did he install a Hot Cam? If so he might have the decomp in 180* out. It's easy to do.

It should start right up. My 14.1 686 started with the stock starter and oem battery.

He did something wrong or the battery is really low.

Thanks, I'm not sure about the hotcams, I think he might of, but maybe not, I will check with him, and let him know what you stated.
So I talked to him today and he did install a hotcams and was kinda thinking something a long those lines also. So now he is pretty sure that is what happened.

Thanks for the help Terse....
i hate 660 raptors alba racing built a motor for me and my exhaust bolts keep breaking every week or every time i rode it so i was good at pulling the motoe out and drilling and tapping the exhaust studs lol pos it was fast though
That sucks. I have never owned one, so no experience.

He did get his problem fixed and it was the auto decompression, with the Hotcam.
