I have an 09 YFZ450R and i a,m trying to make it run as cool as possible while racing. I have put Amsoil in it to help a little ( also cause I'm sponsored by them). What coolant will reduce the temp the most? Maxima, Amsoil, or Engine Ice?

I have used Engine Ice, it does not cool better than 50/50 Ethylene Glycol and Water, it's a waste of money in my opinion.

Someone told me that if u do over-heat ur bike with engine Ice in it, it will turn to sludge... but never had a problem with it an i ran it for 3 or 4 years in my big bore/stroker kfx 470 and that thing ran pretty hot..

I use liquid performance in my r1 helps for me just got 12 yfz 450 haven't change it out yet

Thing is if you ride where water freeze..like me..cant go with anything else than regular coolant. So you would have to change twice a year.

trying liquid performance now. last yr i try wet water and my engine turned to ice in the winter. liquid performance can be mixed with coolant un like enigne ice.

Evans is top notch, Ive ran GT thunder coolant, Engine ice, Watter Wetter and Evans has been the best so far but opinions vary. This is tested with a ESR temp, CV4 hoses and Fluidyne radiator and a prodesign 2inch inline cooler < Pointless part collects mud, but looks cool on white hoses.

Properly tuned is the first step to proper operating Temps. I've used engine ice religiously with no problems

I ran engine ice years ago in my JUNK Polaris. If you do switch to it make sure you flush everything out. I had a experience where it turned into like a gel. Ended up had wash everything out and buy another gallon of it. Not sure what done it....I'm no scientist. But it did seem to help it run cooler.

Should be around 175-200 with inline temp gauge. 190 is where mine runs best

Engine Ice works perfect for my 06 YFZ450. My buddies run it on their Banshees and have no issues either. It gets pretty hot in South Florida and that's what most bike mechanics recommend. Its pricey, but what isn't for these bikes? $22 is not bad for peace of mind.

Had my temp light flicker after a few hard rides, put Engine Ice in and haven't had any problems.
