I'm in the process of tearing down my 2014 yfz450. Im getting the frame, axle, hubs, and a-arms powder coated and was thinking about the motor as well. is this a good idea? will it affect my motor? and will the motor need completely torn down to be powder coated?

Depends how far you want to go. If you want to powder the cases too your going to have to disassemble the entire motor and take out all seal/bearing. The entire bottom end of my drag bike is powdered white but was done while the engine was being built.
