Hey guys, so I have a 2012 YFZ 450 and I am wanting the rims to be all black. What is the best thing to use where I can do it myself? I also have some parts on the four wheeler that I want to turn black but I am not sure what's the best. Please lemme know!
I'm kind of a nube when it comes to paint. How exactly do you dip it and what's the procedure to dip something? And where do you get the equipment haha
Plasti dip is the most durable by far, and can be redone easy, it like a thick rubber coating. It's really a good product, I've had it on my SUV rims for three years .. Nothing's going to withstand dragging you wheel against sharp rocks, my yellow letters on my maxxis are already getting scuffed up
Okay yeah that is what I am going to try then. The thing about plasti dip is that I think it's like a matte black look.... which I am more of a gloss black fan but I'll still try.
What about the other stuff? Like a arms, front bumper, all that stuff? What could I use? There is to much aluminum
For arms powder coat would be your best bet. If you don't have anyone who can do it then rattle can. "Klean-Strip" aircraft paint stripper will remove any paint or powder coat fast! Be careful using it because it's powerful and can burn your skin and eyes.
