there is also a drain plug on the bottom of the oil tank
well yea but if it aint flowin into the case with the plug out how do i know its runnnin into the case when the bike is runnin?
So you only took the drain bolt out of the crank case? That only drains the oil out of the crank case. To drain the rest of the oil out you have to take the bolt out of the bottom of the oil tank. Oil doesn't just flow freely from the tank to the crank case, it has to be pumped so if you're engine isn't running, the oil won't leave the tank, not fast at least.
ok well iv read about 2 dozen pages and i belive i read it will pour out witht the dipstic out and thats how i did it every time before, and i turned my engine over a few times and no more oil came out. either way i got another question my resivour is filling right up to.
Check the screens maybe their clogged?
well i dont think its the screen cuz the oil flows freely out of the line when i take it off
just take the bolt out the bottom! couldnt be simpler.

+1...thats why there is a drain plug on the case AND tank
yes but im not to worried about draining it in worried about it not circulating when im runnin it and like i said the resivour is filling up alot when its running.
check the screen, it would flow freely with the tube off even if it is clogged a little but the pump is making it flow faster than "freely"

k dude, have you heard of an oil pump? Thats what circulates the oil when the motor is running. When you change the oil, you take out the bolt on the crank case and the bolt at the bottom of the rezzy. Simple enough??!!

you can tell because the motor will shut off automaticaly if it isn't getting any oil.
Joester, YFZER359 no prob i do hav some idea as to what im doin lol

climb-101, oh really i never new that

so no oil will flow unless the engine is running, and if there is no oil in the case the engine will shut off. correct
but why wouldnt oil come out when i turned the engine over with the plug out of the case?

yes. Like i said, when the motor is running the oil pump is goin and pumpint oil throughout the motor. Unless of course your oil pump fails, and someone correct me if im wrong but i think that is a big problem with YFZ's. My frends pupm went out in his YFZ and he had to replace the crank and all the bearings. About a $3000 fix.
it would hav to pump in order to fill the ressy up right?

yes. But it should aslo be pumping out into your motor. So if you have alot of buildup in you rezzy and barely any in your case then you have a clot somewhere.
