Moddin' 06 Clutch Cover

I was putting together a WR setup motor today in the shop and we were also adding the '07 oil mod and I was comparing the '06 and '07 clutch covers. I noticed that there wasn't a single thing different besides where the oil squirter goes. All you have to do is mill the spot down and drill a hole for the squirter to fit. I took down the measurements of the squirter and where it was milled and drilled. It seems like it would be really easy to do. I have a friend that owns a machine shop and is a master of a mill and lathes and CNCs and all that jazz. I don't see why it wouldn't work. All you are doing is tapping into the oil delivery line pressure just like the '07 cover...same exact thing. I see no problems with doing it what so ever cause it's the exact same as what was done to the '07 covers. Has anyone ever tried this? Just curious...either way i'm gonna try it out. Also could a guy do both the squirter and the jet style mods for extra oiling or would that be to much loss in oil pressure? Even with the new oil pump? Just thought I would throw this out on the table to see what everyone else thought.

This is exactly what some of the companies that offer the oil mod do. They install the '07 squirter in the case cover.
oh really? I thought it was just to your case half that everybody was doing. Either that or buy ALL the new '07 stuff. I haven't been on here for awhile so I didn't know what was all new in the 450 world. I just noticed that it could be easily done and thought I would share. Now I just feel stupid. :loser:
No problem, I'm sure a lot of people didn't know it could be done like this.
will this work with my 05 cover? because im a journeyman machinist i havnt really got too much experience on doing custom stuff but i work with people that can defenitly help me out.
Yes it works for all pre '06 case covers except a few early model '04's. I've heard they're a little bit different and require more work.

awesome thanks. where could i get the squirter from? and is there anything else required for the mod?
The nozzle's part number is 5D3-15155-00-00 and the o-ring that goes behind it is 93210-05098-00. I don't know about the specifics of the mod, I had mine done because I can't machine.

Here's a picture of the nozzle installed off of J&T's website: http://jtatv.com/Images/Picture%20020.jpg
