Hey guys, I have been looking at all the great info on jetting and want to know what is accurate for sea level , full exhaust, K&N with snorkle to carb.Cam mod this weekend.

Edgerat recomends 168 mains , 45 pilot 2.5 airscrew with ncvq needle.
Sparks over the phone ---178 main 45 pilot, 2.5 airscrew with ncvq needle.
HMF says 180 main????
CT sonic 168 main 45 pilot, 2.5 airscrew with ncvq needle.
Why would Sparks and HMF recomend such a large main when it seems the majority on this forum use up to 10 sizes smaler with great sucess???
It seems most YFZ's are closer to Edgerats recomendations.
What are your final settings out there.

I am running an alba exhaust with a um airbox, and a k&n, also have the cam mod. I am at a 175 main, 45 pilot, 2 turns on the airscrew, and 4th clip on the ncvq needle. Juns like a raped ape. :evil

Elevation ranging from 500' to 1100'
Temps ranging from 65 to 90 degrees
Low humidity

170 main
45 pilot
2 1/2 turns out
4 clip on yz needle

The bike runs good and has a nice brown plug. ;)

just rejetted this weekend after racing with 24 V

mods:
full GYT-R exhaust system
K&N with lid off and pre-filter
stock intake tube
no cam mod

175 main
45 pilot
5th clip on GYT-R needle
3 turns on the mix screw

RUNS STRONG!!!

24V.. my main jetting of 170 at the drags was not providing me with that top end in 5th.. thanks for the insight to try the 175 main..

may even pop in the next step up on the main for a try.



Previous mods:
full GYT-R exhaust system
GYT-R dual foal filter with lid off
no cam mod

jetted at:
165 main
4th clip on GYT-R needle
45 pilot
2 3/4 turns on the fuel mix

Currently run full Ron Wood Pipe system (Excelent fit and finish)
Ron Wood Airbox eliminator tube & large K&N " " " "
Cam Mod
175 main
NCVQ 4th clip
48 pilot
2.5 turns airscrew

This thing is awsome, INSTANT THROTTLE RESPONSE Wheelie's 1st, second, third at the push of the throttle.
Excelent power band from right off idle to rev limiter.
I would highly reccomend this set up to get max performance from the YFZ.
After riding a 400 stroker banshee for years, and now this, I am sold on 4 stroke power!!!

AT SEA LEVEL I HAVE FULL HMF WITH K&N, 180 MAIN, 48 PILOT, HAVN'T TOUCHED THE NEEDLE, AND 3 TURNS ON THE SCREW..... RIDES FREAKIN GREAT... NO COMPLAINTS HERE....

Sparks knows what they are talking about. I live at 5000ft and run a 170 main, 45 pilot, and GYTR needle on the 4th clip and it runs great. I also have the cam mod and the sparks air filter kit.

You guys that say you have it jetted perfectly- when you stab the throttle- idle to WOT- is there a bog? Mine stalls out when I do this. I don't know if it can be jetted out, or if you just have to roll on the throttle more gently.

I am and it runs great. I have the YZ needle on #4 and 2 out on the screw. About 500ft elev. Also Pro Flow with Foam.

ZRider,

This type of carb needs a load on it to function properly. It is normal so do not worry. It is really annoying though. Every now and again I stall it. Did you raise the idle a few steps? This helps.

Well are all you guys at sea level? Some of those seem like big jets.

I ride mainly at around 3000ft-4000ft.

I've got the Noss machine K&N set up with outerwear.
No lid.

Dr. D slip on.

I'm running a 165 main
45 pilot
2.5 turns on the fuel screw

It runs great.
