According to the local dealer you have to switch to race gas. My riding buddy went high compression on his Honda and has to burn race fuel but I haven't talked to anyone that put one in the YFZ.

You clearly would have to run 100 and up octane fuel. Running too low of octane in a motor is a disaster. I would say a 110 octane would be recommended.

Early detination will occur when you run too low of octane and will scar the piston and head surfaces and can literally ruin the motor.

I ran a mix of 60%/40% 110 race/91pump when I was running 13:1. I'm back on 91 pump now w/ my 12.5:1.
