Jan,
What do you want to do with your quad? Do you have any restrictions on your quad in the areas that you ride? Sound? Spark Arrester? What is your budget?

Hi there

I ride mostly MX, can remove the spark arestor without problems with noise level.
my budget will be some where around $ 2000

If your a serious MXer, I would spend it on the suspension. Get it wider and revalve or get new shocks that are setup for you weight and a-arms.

yea, if you mx get wider arms with some good shocks(something better than elka dual rates bc stocks are close enough to those) and an wider axle. If you dont want to spend money on a pipe, just take the spark arestor out, lid off, jet it, and if you can do the cam mod yourself. Spend the money or perfromance parts and dont worry about the motor(its bad enough stock.... :lol )

Heres a sample list:

A-arms - $760 for LSR $950 for houser
Shocks - $800 ? PEP or TCS
Axle - $400
Tires - around $60 a piece with out rims

Thats probably a little more that 2k tho....

if u MX, get wider........ it makes so much of a difference......... Laeger Long Travel will cost you about 800....... TCS front shocks will cost you 700....... now thats 1500 and an axle will cost you about 350........ so thats 1850....... that will definitely get you started off...... and when you get the money........ get an exhaust, which is about 500......... then thats 2350...... so you could smoke everyone at about ur budget....... so get to spendin :)

You konw YFZ53 has it down, but if you want to save a little Lonestar DC-4 Longtravel a0-arms are 750, and the TCS longtravels are acutally 780 shipped with me, standered travel triple rates with zero preload and adjustabole compression ressies are 700 shipped, so its on the right path, i will have pics of my bike next week so it will give you an idea on what it looks like,

The Elka suspension alone will nearly consume your 2K budget.

definetly talk to jeff or someone from the quad shop for suspension. i know they have great prices and service. i was going to go houser/axis on my z this winter, but im saving for a yfz now. i guess ill contribute to teh conversation...

Houser +3 MX LT a arms $950
RPM Dominator Axle $450
then you can get your front and rear shocks revalved. that way, youll get a lower ride height and most of the benefit of an aftermarket shock for a fraction of the price. so, figure $700 for that.

that should put you around the $2000 mark. if youre feeling extra spendy, Axis or PEP LT is the only way to go. from what i hear, the yfz is plenty fast stock, so not much needed there. (a pipe, cam mod, remove airbox lid, and rejet and youre looking at 50HP :O :O ) i love spending other people's money :lol

well, if money isnt that big of a factor...
go with Hiper Beadlocks with either Holeshots or Razrs.

Hipers: http://www.hiper-technology.com/atvproducts.htm

Holeshots: http://www.itptires.com/holeshot.html

Razrs: http://www.maxxis.com/ <---- go there, click "ATV" at the top, then
select RAZR MX front, then the rear.
