Fuel Problem..

your main seems pretty rich, try a 165 or 168.

I don't think the jetting sounds rich. I have the same exhaust and I am running a 175 and it runs great.

any others have a suggestion? before i start guessing with jetting up or down

SOUNDS LEAN - GO TO A 175 MAIN AND 48 PILOT

I also have the same set up and it also dose fine. Take the carb off and clean it.

ok so ive rejetted it to a 175 m 45p 4th clip... cleaned carb, still cuts out in top end of 5th gear.. changed pipe and put on a gytr slip on with stock header... still same thing.. changed main to a 170, cleaned carb again put yoshi full system back on, still cutting out in 5th.. cuts out, dies then takes bout 35-45 sec to get started again.. im out of ideas guys please help me out.. oh and drained fuel tank out and put fresh fuel in..

I have a Dr D exhaust,Cam mod, Pro Design Pro Flow K&N system, Boyesen acc pump cover,Redline air/fuel screw,ncqv nettle,zip tie mod. My elevation is around 250ft. My jetting is 170 Main 48 Pilot 2 turn out. 4th clip . Runs Great in temps between 50-90-95.

Have you tried a fresh plug? And it only does it in 5th gear?

ya ive only had it happen 5th gear.. havnt tried plug yet, but gonna tonihgt..

If it is fuel i would think it would do it at the same rpm in every gear.

Is the lid off the airbox?

i would back off to a 165 and see if that helps, and put in a 48 pilot, i'm at 400 ft and 170 was rich had to back it back down

found out the float valve was stickin do to corrosion from the 10%ehtanol gas being sold now..

when you "clean" the carb you gotta take the whole thing apart brother.

And don't get carb cleaner on the slide assy..........

ok so replaced the float valve, it was corroded... but its still cutting out in the top end.. mostly just 5th, but if you hold it wide open in any gear for long enough it will do it in all... and no its not the rev limiter... i changed the jetting back down to a 165m and a 45p.. moved the clip to 3rd position.. but do to weather havnt gottin to test it out yet.. any ideas while i wait for the weather to change?

change the gas to reserve/ on... opposite what you have it on now. maybe the petcock is like blocked a little, so after the bike drains the bowl, it can only barely supply enough fuel... just a though.

tried that.. we even switched tanks from my brothers.. still same..
