I try to stay away from spacers. With a ajustable axle you can play with the hub spaceing and make small changes to help with side bite. I run my rear at about 48" on a G-force axle but with my 10"x 10" DWT wheels I run you can get 48" with the stock axle. As far as up front I would run wider A-arms over spacers because you get a better feel and less steering recidence. And shop around some standerd travel arms can be cheep like Burgards. I think they are about 350 or so and a $200 G-force axle works fine. My best tip is power. My next motor will be 500+cc at 60+ hp at the wheels.
