wow dude!

which oil plug? the one to put the oil in the crankcase?
that sucks alot, alot of times you can just re-hone this type of thing and get a new piston if it didn't wedge sideways and gouge the wall. whats your plan?

sending the head and carb to Venom tomorrow morning... ported head, new piston, 42mm carb bore with RAT and a ESR intake....

so anybody running this set up or close to it... send some jetting spec's if you can.... many thanks

Josh
well, as i was discussing about a week ago.. God made that oil plug come out so that it would seize and so you would HAVE to get it ported and bored. It was destiny, not bad luck.
Did your motor seize? How do the cam journals look? I would have the head checked by a very reputable mechanic that has nothing to gain by telling you its junk before I dumped money into it.
Wow that sucks.

I'd get a new oem cylinder. That kind of heat may have distorted that jug... and I wouldn't want the hassles of boring and replating it only to find it out of round.

That head looks fine from the little bit I can see. If the cam journals are good, maybe a slight deck to make sure it is completely flat for the sealing of the head gasket.
i knew Terse would be here lol

That does suck. You can do as terse suggested or try to see if Venom will still swap the cylinder in its condition for a Big Bore :mhihi:

no. the motor did not seize... it's messed up. it happoned earler this summer. i was out on the trails when me and my buddie stoped to let the bikes cool down (and wait for my parents :mhihi: ) i got down to soften up the spring some... and when we got ready to take off again... i reached down felt the the reassy plug, case plug, and checked the coolant (all there away we go) well... went about another mile and just happoned to notice the oil light on. when i figured that out
pulled the clutch and it shut right off.... still cranked over just one hell of a gouge in the side of my piston and cylinder...

i looked it over with a straight edge didnt seam bad? ill i all ready have it boxed up and ready for UPS to come this morning. ill see if i can get (John?) at Venom to check it... as for the cylinder... i already have a extra one laying around that spec. in the ring gap for a '05 stock bore. but if you want... i got two of these with scored side wall's ill give you a good deal on. (and yes... this isnt the first time this happoned :icon_eek: )

if i dont get rid of my cylinder... ill prob see if i can have a new sleeve put in one and have it punch out a little bit (true 450 or something) if not. have them checked and then re coated with the nicklesyle (stock bore)
