Fasst Fleex Bars And Bends?

2078 Views 16 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  adman
I am thinking about buying some of the flexx bars for my YFZ, but wanted to know how to decide on all the degrees and bends they have? 14 and 15 degree seem the choice, but they is also the length? 31"? and the quad racer, versus 14 degree moto bend.. So many choices.
Any feedback whether my size or anything would make a difference, and everything else. or if they are worth all that $$
They will be used for MX.
Thanks guys,

wonderin the same thing
I'm not running a set of flexx bars so I'm not all that helpful, lol. I went to fasstco.com, they have a bunch of info on there.
Best thing to do is call them up, tell them what bike you have with what stem and how tall you are and they can narrow it down to 2 or 3 suggestions. That's what I did and ended up with the 14° Moto.
I got a houser stem but I am honestly not sure of the rise :icon_eek:
It's a 04 YFZ and I know that makes a difference.. But I would guess it is longer by 1"-2".
I dunno if there is a way to find out? Want some pictures? haha

Also sidewinder, Are they worth all that money?
Honestly, I'm not the one you should be asking if they're worth the money. For one, I never race nor have I ever been on a track. Secondly, I only got to ride with them for 2 days in the dunes before my bike blew up. Finally, I got my set for free so in my case they were worth every penny!
ive got flex bars and i love them the thing is ive had 2 set the dana creech bend which is like the cr mid bend and the bars i have now which is a quad racer bend 15 degree i do believe and they are like the cr high bend im 5'9" and i run a houser stem with a +2 stem with the cr high ben (quad racer bend) which is comfortable for me but i also race XC
I dont see it making to much of a difference on which u choose. I dont even know what mine are and i like them. 14* 31.5" is all i know. Not sure about high, mid, whatever. Heres a picture, on stock stem.

I have the 14 deg bend AND LOVE THEM !!!!!!

my wrist used to hurt when I landed hard , not on more

i haven't had arm pump ether
i suggest 14, i have 12 and they are too straight. 14 is what most people use and is closest to most bends i think
I'm thinking of the dana creech bend? 14 degree bend? What are the specs of them.
Also I am just guessing those because.. well.. he doesn't seem too big, (my size) and they are for a quad.
I guess I can't go wrong with that style? Any feedback or opinions on that?

I have the 15 degree 32" moto and wish I had gotten the ATV because the motos are about .75" shorter than ATV's. I Love them tho you will not regret buying them. Be sure to get the new rebound cushons for a little more cushioning.
What are the new rebound cushions? or whatever.. haha
The rebound cushions help minimize vibrations transfered threw the bar while you are pulling back on them. All it is is one cushion on the inside of the bar and one on the outside. Here is a photo.

Thank for the picture, perfect.

So if I ordered some does it come with the elastomer things on both sides? I guess i'll just figure it out.
If it doesnt, its not hard to do. I went to the parts store today and did mine. I just took out 1 of the bolts, took it up there, found the same type bolt, just 1 inch longer, and bam. 2.19 later i had what i needed. The only difference is this bolt isnt an alen head on 1 end. I kept my yellow elastomers on the inside and put my blue on the outside. Ive not riden with it yet, but im sure it didnt make it feel worse.
^^^ Interesting. Thinking about getting a set too. Just trying to justify the cost. I can think of a lot more things I could do with $300.00.

Plus, I don't get the whole "elastomer" thing. Go to the sk8 shop and get PILZ in whatever hardness you want. They wanted $50.00 or some BS online for truck bushings. Gimme a break...
