My 2004 keeps blowing out bulbs, wont stay running while bike is idling in gear, and will not start unless the bike is in nuetral with the clutch pulled in. I have a good reason to believe that the voltage regulator is bad, but how do i check it? Also does this mean I need a cdi box? Thanks for any help

you can check at the headlights. use a volt meter and test what the power to the headlights is. i think it should be around 12 volts. you need to rev up the motor to see what the voltage is doing. you also need to make sure the volt meter is on ac and not dc that will mess up the reading.
