Dyna Ignition

Ok guys quick question...

I have a 2005 YFZ, Hi comp piston, DR. D exhaust, Jetted, and filter... Thats about it (pretty stock engine wise)... well it seems that all my buddies are beatin me, not by much, maybe half a bike or so, and they are just stock jetted 450s... i was thinking since i had a high comp piston i should atleast pull a little bit... My question is, will i see a huge difference with a Dyna tech ignition? will it wake up my bike a little bit? it just has the stock CDI in it right now... Thanks ahead of time for responses, Kyle

well if ur going to get one get the programmable one and what 450's r beating u??
08 yfz jetted and pipe beats me bike about a bike
08 Polaris 450 outlaw mxr? (the solid rear axle one) piped about even i pull slightly
05 trx450r by about 2 bikes, but he is running 112 fuel, and a stock bore built motor
04 yfz450 stock motor jetted, piped w/power bomb header... beats me by about 2 bikes (built on wednesday?)

and yes i can ride, its not me. i have 4 years under my belt on just my YFZ
does it run fine cause u should be able to beat most of them r u sure ur jetting is right??
if you are drag racing, it very well could be a gearing issue or even a traction issue. Try and find our what sprokets, tire size and so on they have on their bikes and compare it to yours.

As far as the CDI's go, the only thing the non programable dynatek box will really do for you is set your rev limiter at a higher RPM. Power wise you ill bennifit from the programable box because it has the ability to change you you mapping and ignition. if yor not affraid to spend money, VORTEX ignitions in my opinion are the best bang for the buck. they run about $450 - $500 depending on where you are looking.

My Brother in-law had one on his 440ex and when you flipped the switch on the handlebar, hold on!! I couldn't beleive it, it was almost like ridding to completely different machines, and just by a flip of a toggle switch!! If i had the cash i would have one already! :)

I just had it re-jetted, when i took it to this new shop (a guy who only rides yfz's) he said my old shop had it jetted all wrong...so he fixed that...I seems to run strong to me, just not getting the jump i thought it would...I was rebuilt about a year or so ago, i dunno im confused....
