i finally got a chance to ride this beast somewhere where i could get up to speed. i was at El Mirage Dry Lake yesterday. my yfz has only a few hours on it. i have the gyt-r s.s. header pipe, gyt-r alum. muffler with the quiet insert/end-cap. pro-design pro-flow kit with k&n filter, i have the gyt-r needle on the 4th clip, 45 pilot - 2 1/2 turns out on the fuel screw and 185 main jet (a little rich as i had some stumble at full throttle). with several mile of smooth flat dry lake bed to use i was able to finally see how this thing would run. as most of you already know---strong and very quick to accelerate. top speed limited by gearing. i didn't have much to compare to as the people i was with had only a blaster and a recon. but in giving them about 200 yard head start i was easily catch them and pass them "like they were standing still" within seconds i was hundreds of yards ahead. again not much of a comparison.
