I must be over thinking this, ive replaced chains with no problems until now. bought a new one, cut it to correct length and will not fit whatsoever. ive loosened up my old chain before trying to put the new one on ( old one was stretched and constantly tightened it, loosened it thinking it would help with putting the new one on). stock sprockets. what am i missing??? :what

You didn't cut it too short? I know a guy who did that once. Will not mention his name.

If the chain was smoked, the sprockets are too. If they're bad enough, a good chain may not go on them. If the chain is stretched, chain and sprockets should be changed together.

yea I checked and the new chain is the correct length. I will go ahead and buy new sprockets...cant hurt... thanks for the fast response. much appreciated
