Motor mount/jackshaft plate, with inboard brake from a 700 Raptor. Comet offers many belt lengths for different applications. They give you a center line to center line length for whatever specific Driver and Driven pulleys you use.
FYI I ordered this directly from Comet in Wisconsin. Great people to deal with! Quick response time, and who knows their product better than the manufacturer. Gave me straight answers with part numbers, shipped out when they said it would. What more could you ask for?

So you see the jackshaft under the plate, that’s the central pivot point for the swing arm and the drive sprocket. Again mounted on AMI 3/4” pillow blocks.
I’ve been asked 100 times why Me, Mr horsepower, is using a lawnmower engine?
Simplicity is the short answer, everything’s there in one compact unit. Gas tank, carburetor, exhaust, Even has electric start!
Plus this whole deal is untested, unproven, designed by me with input from a couple friends and coworker’s
So ya a 300hp Hyabusa would be cool, but I’d rather prove things out first.

So the inboard brake, how’s it going to work?
Not sure myself, chime in with your thoughts please. Comet 44 partially chosen for the gear reduction of 1.24:1, so 24% under-driven.
This allowed me to run a smaller rear sprocket, and slow the jackshaft down. 3800rpm engine will be 2888rpm jackshaft and brake rotor speed. Thinking it’s going to eat brake pads.

Painted things mainly for rust prevention. Open ends towards the front are weld points for the roll bar and lower frame.

i would like suggestions about what to do with the bare shafts to prevent rust. Paint would be an issue for shaft removal later. Something like semichrome polish is all in coming up with so far.

So I bought this YFZ450 complete from end of an eBay guy. Listed as in good usable condition. Had lower arm covers on it, I didn’t remove them until recently. Bought them last fall, sent the guy a picture, no response, imagine that. Buyer beware 5 star rating 🤣

Bought a set of 2022 new factory take off front shocks. They measure 18.5” eye to eye.
I’m looking at Alba racing’s long a arm kit.
Bang for the buck they look to be a good deal.
Don’t know much about a arms honestly. It says for 18” shocks though.
Don’t want the 2” per side extension, but I’m not seeing anything in stock width.

chime in with suggestions please.

You’re caught up to my progress. I’ll post more as I get things done. FYI I started this project late last fall so don’t expect it finished anytime soon.
Thanks to David for providing me dimensions for the front end.
Questions and comments welcome, no offense but this doesn’t seem to be a very chatty group.
Suspension gurus let me know what you think on aftermarket a arms please
