Anyone know what size hex wrench or another tool to remove the crankshaft access screw/plug on a 2008 YFZ? I don't seem to have a hex wench near large enough.

Anyone??? I am sure plenty of people did the cam mod on an 08 and had to remove this.
i used the head of an old bolt and some vice grips. Not sure about the exact size.
yea just use a bolt. If you really need to take that off.

I just put a juck under it and jacked it up then put it in 5th gear and spun the tires to find TDC. Easier then hasseling with extra bolts, and lowering the risk of snapping them. (Damn timing plug!)

Wow, you must like to take a chance at screwing your timing up if you wouldnt pay attention to it. And what do you mean hasseling with extra bolts and snaping them? They are two plugs that you take out, then you put a 17mm socket on the flywheel nut and turn it, dont know any type of bolts that could be snapped when doing that.

Crackhead_willy its a 14mm hex head socket if you still are wondering.

my timing is perfect. When i did my valves the last time i took the timing plug out to make sure it was at TDC then when i put it back in a torqued it to much and i broke the top flat part off. Had to pay $25 for a stock replacement one. And what i mean by that is the less bolts you take out the less the chance of stripping it or breaking it like i did.
