Hey everyone - I have an 2006 450 with the 2007 oil mod (yama nozzle and HF pump) This past weekend we were racing flat track and the motor was tough to start and knocked when running. We put it away for the day and tonight I pulled it apart. The lower rod journal is seized - anyone else have this happen with the oil mod complete? I bought the quad used so it could have had some run time before the oil mod or maybe it just went out with normal wear and tear. Let me know if you have experience with this. Also any suggestions? Hot Rod or OEM replacement?

I agree on OEM replacement.

I would check the screen, but chances are your crank is just high time and was ready for replacement. Even with the oil mod they don't live forever.

You made the right choice putting it up, most aren't that lucky (smart).

Oil mod has NOTHING to do with crank bearing failure. Oil mod is strictly for oiling the wrist pin to keep it from seizing and breaking the piston
