Hello all, I'm sure what I'm about to write isnt news to most. Been racing GNCC AM for 2 years now and having issues with heat and battery. Well both seem to be connected to the coolant. I've used both Bel-Ray and Maxima. I've boiled completely dry 3 times, twice with Bel-Ray.

After much research I've found each have a good but low boiling point. Evan's appears to be the best coolant on the market and will be going in my quad next season.

Are you sure you don't have a leak in your head gasket or something? That seems like it's happening too often. I have always run Engine Ice and I've never had any issues.

Good point, but I've checked and could see any leaks. It's time for my rebuild and there will be fresh baskets installed. I'm still going to switch to Evan's since they have the highest boil point of any coolant.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll keep any eye out for evidance of leakage.

How much abuse does it take to make the fan on my 18 yfz come on or on a properly running 450?... I have those temp stickers on radiator and head and i dont think the radiator decal has made it to the 200 degree range.

Would i have to do a huge sand hill in 90 plus weather to make it come on?

How do you know it hasn’t come on? I have engine ice in mine and once and a while my fan comes on the only reason I know is because I’m wearing shorts when I ride and can feel the heat being blown when it has come on not any noise and I’m not sure if it runs with the key on motor not running it probably does I just can’t confirm that

Today i stopped real kuik after a rocky hill climb to take a quick drink it was about 90 degrees outside and i saw the rad sticker start glowing to a rectangle i have not (noticed) seen it go that high and lo and behold the fan came on for a minute and then it shut off so now i know for sure it works. The radiator temp sticker showed about 203 degrees farenheit.

On those temp stickers now i know they work for sure based on temp, just not sure if the numbers match....
