From reading on the forums here it seems to have been an issue with the 2017’s and maybe newer. Kilroy on here has a 14 and I believe he has close if not more than 200 hours on his and all I ever saw him say is he replaced the clutch cable

I have a 2017 and had this same issue. But the issue isn't the number of pins. It's the springs don't want to stay in place. From what I have read it's only the 2017 quads and newer that have been seeing this issue.

So is a 2009-2013 (Rs) OEM entire clutch components compatible with 2014+ EFI engines?

Someone should start a OEM parts list for the 2014+ to "downgrade" the clutch system.

Newer is not always better. What is next? Start stop in quads too?

I did the swap in 20 minutes did not even have to drain oil.

you will need a clutch basket holder tool, torque wrench, red lock tight.

18P-16150-10-00 ('09-13 YFZ450R OEM Yamaha clutch basket with primary DRIVEN gear)

5XD-16154-00-00 (‘09-13 basket spacer)

90215-20005-00 (new lock washer)

tip your machine over about 45 degrees and put the right side up on something. All the oil will spill to the left side of the motor.

carefully take off your clutch cover without damaging your clutch cover gasket. There are two pins don’t lose those.

replace with old style basket and put back together in same order.

clutch basket main bolt - 54 lbs (red lock tight)

spring plate bolts - 5.5 lbs

clutch cover - 7.4 lbs
