I'm just curious what the best way to check the oil level on an 04, it's confusing with the oil tank on the front and the oil in the engine, I over filled it once and blew out the decompression plug!! Thanks for any help

Warm the bike up and turn it off. Then unscrew the overflow dipstick and just place the stick in the tank and dont screw it in. As long as the oil level on the stick is in the middle and not more than 3/4 up the stick you are good. When filling you put 10oz in the case and put 44oz + a tiny bit more in the tank.

Sounds easy enough, when I was checking the oil I was screwing it in, so that must be why I overfilled it!! Thanks alot
