How do you ensure that the cooling fan is working.....I rode the crap out of my bike for 45 minutes strait today, the motor seemed really hot, but the fan never kicked on. Thanks in advance.

i wonder if you could wire in a seperate switch for it. i beleive there is a coolant temp sensor of some sort that turns it on now. i think a switch man help you in this case. but im not sure since mine doesn't have a fan, and its too cold here still for me to be out in my cold a$$ garage messing with the wheeler yet. :( i wanna ride bad!
In the service manual there is a section for checking the temp sensor, I don't remeber it off the top of my head but will look it up for you tomorrow if someone doesn't chime in before than. Yes you can just run it off a switch but it will not tell you if the temp switch is bad.
Yeah, I looked in the service manual but didn't find anything. I know I can wire it up to a switch, but I would rather have it kick on like its supposed to.
if you remove the multiplug of the temp sensor on the brake pedal side and put a paperclip accors the pins, if the fan comes on with the bike running or the ignition on then all the wiring and fan is ok, if it doesnt then you need to trace all the wiring back and find the issue, you can also put the fan across the battery to test it with 2 wires

the fan should come on if you leave the bike to idle for around 15 mins, if the fan works with the paper clip and you are sure the fan never comes on then replace the thermo switch

I'll check it that way. I appreciate it.
if you want to check your temp sensor, ohm just the sensor it self and find out what the spec ohm value is supposed to be.
