Hey all I just bought an 06 yfz and it has been beat on in the past. I came from dirt bikes so I’m still learning about 4 wheels. Anyways. This yfz has no chain rollers and no chain guide in the back. I can see where the upper chain roller bolts to and I read about a relocation bracket to allow for more compression. I also read the stock chain guide mounts to the stock swing arm skid plate. On a dirt bike the upper roller is needed otherwise your chain could wear a hole in your air box.
Now for my questions
1-do I need chain rollers? If so why? To keep tension on the chain
2-where does the lower chain roller go? Am I missing a bracket?
3-are chain guides necessary?

I realize the chain slider serves a huge purpose.

1-do I need chain rollers? If so why? To keep the chain from slapping around. I have run with or without, It only seems to matter if you dont have the right chain tension.
2-where does the lower chain roller go? There is no lower roller on a stock application.
3-are chain guides necessary? I assume you mean the guide on the skid plate. if so, it doesn't matter.
