I just raced at a course that was a very tight track that kept me in 1st and 2nd almost the whole time. It felt like I had trouble with the gearing keeping my rpms too low for the gear. I had to drop to 1st alot more than I wanted or felt I should. This also caused an issue with the quad dying alot.

I thought I would go up to a 39 tooth rear sprocket but would like the opinions of other CC racers out there. Would simply increasing the idle help or are others out there using larger rear sprockets.

i don't race but i have tired 13T front and 39T rear in the dunes. it sure made the whole gearbox usable. next trip i think i'll try 13T front and the stock 38T rear- a small change- 13/39 is 3.00:1, 13/38 is 2.92:1. with these sprockets you can also try 14/39 (2.78:1) stock 14/38 is 2.71:1.
