:angryfire:

went out yesterday to try and dial in my rear suspension and all was good till i came up short trying to clear a 50ft gap :rant2:

my buddy had just built it and i was the first to attempt it... it all went wrong when the face of the jump sent me up higher then i had anticipated (not straight across) causing me to come up way short

as i got airborne i knew i wasnt going to make it and decided try and ride it out so i extend my body gripped the bars grabbed some gas and braced for impact... but since i cased it the bike lost all forward momentum...tossing me over the
bars

i landed on my head 1st then shoulder 2nd almost blacked out but regained vision and was seeing stars (brittney??haha)
as i tried to get up i knew.

broken clavicle :disgust:

thats no fun. that x ray is just like my friends collarbone when he broke it pinned in 5th... on a CRF450. thats like 90mph. They seem to shatter, huh.
man thats nasty...all the best for a speedy recovery.

will there be any long term complications?
Darn karma. It didn't work like it was designed to. You went out of your way and took pictures of your swing arm travel for me, you offered your insight on Yoshi RS-7 spacers and suspension exhaust interference, and then you go and break a bone and put yourself out for the beginning of summer. Something about that seems wrong. Do you remember kicking any puppies in the face lately?
Well. At least you got to test the new swingarm. Pretty strong, eh?

Looks familiar. I had a steering stem bolt break while racing. Not the best thing to do.

Thx 4 sharing did u opt for surgery? And how long were u in a sling?

Also how old were u

Thx again
That really sucks bro, sorry to hear this. Hopefully just a minor set back though.

I didn't break my collar bone, but separated my shoulder BAAD! Well, in the end I have 1-1/2" cut off the end of the collar bone where it meets the shoulder (so they don't touch) and my left shoulder will never be in "socket" again. They had to cut my collar bone down so when I moved my arm it wouldn't grind in the shoulder socket because it could never be set back into place again. Happened when I was like 21 and I am now going on 34 and still riding like a mad man! I even race MX!

Good luck man, take care of it and you will be back on in no time.
Went to see the sports specialist today and turns out the break is to critical to heal on its own so i will be having reconstructive surgery on tues

Damn... It
sorry to hear that man. good luck with that, and I wish you a speedy recovery
ouch sucks man. i hope it get better fast for ya
I was 21 and didn't have surgery, but took me two months before I could ride again. Another guy I knew had surgery and was riding in a lil less than a month after. He was about 24 when he broke his. I would probably go with surgery if they suggest it.

I was only in a sling for the first two weeks, they never put me in a figure 8 brace.

Mine healed just like the picture shows. So I can't really sleep on the side very much, and it gets a pain in it every once in a while.
update its been 2 weeks since my surgery and thought i would update

its been hellish being in a damn sling and ive lost a good amount of muscle mass and strength in my left arm which really sucks

my break required 9 screws and a plate to put back together and i am not allowed to start physical therepy for another 2 weeks :disgust:

im out of a sling as of today and had my staples removed

here is some pics i took right before they removed them

glad to have them out so i can start moving my arm more
