hey just got my 450 been hearing about this cam mod, ive been hearing just move the cam sprockets back one tooth is this true or what is the deal with it, help !!
If you do this along with removing the airbox lid, removing the"pea shooter" out of the silencer, and re-jetting you should see a sizable increase in power over the whole power band. Most of us have done this mod, and like it. I would recommend it.
The best way is to buy a YZ cam from the motorcycle and install it. Then there is no problem with the decompression tab. The total is less than $150, and you have done it the right way. :lol
My local dealer did the cam mod for me (along with Sparks full exhaust). At the moment, I've only ridden it once for 2 minutes, and it ran great, but I never rode it "stock" so I can't offer a comparision.
